Parsons Memorial Lodge Summer Series

Tuolumne MeadowsのSoda Springs近くに「Parsons Memorial Lodge」という石組みの小屋があります。
この建物は1915年にシエラクラブによって建てられたものです。
現在は夏の期間に行われる講演シリーズ「Parsons Memorial Lodge Summer Series」の会場として使われています。
この夏のプログラムをご案内します。
いずれも無料で、時間特記のないものは午後2時から約1時間のプログラムです。
クルマの方はTMビジターセンターもしくはランバートドーム下Pから徒歩になります。（所要時間20〜30分）

The National Park Service will once again host the annual Parsons Memorial Lodge Summer Series beginning July 15th with weekend programs through August 26th, 2007.
The Parsons Summer Series is sponsored by the National Park Service, Yosemite Association, Loralee Tucker Hiramoto Memorial Fund, Friends of Parsons Lodge, Institute for Law and Systems Research, and Poets & Writers, Inc through a grant from the James Irvine Foundation and, though inadvertently omitted from the previous e-news, the Hearst Foundation.

All programs, unless otherwise noted, begin at 2:00 p.m. and last approximately one hour. Allow 30 minutes walking time to Parsons Memorial Lodge from either Lembert Dome parking area or the Tuolumne Meadows Visitor Center. Admission is free.

Roll up your sleeves. Bring your ideas. Help us plan for Tuolumne's future.
On Saturday, August 11 from 8:30am to 12:30pm all interested park staff, tribes, gateway communities, organizations, and members of the public are invited to attend the next PLANNER-FOR-A-DAY Workshop at Parsons Lodge in Tuolumne Meadows .
The purpose of this session will be to discuss the Tuolumne Planning Workbook, a report on progress for both the Tuolumne Wild and Scenic River Comprehensive Management Plan and the Tuolumne Meadows Plan. This workbook is currently available for public comment through September 15 (available online at www.nps.gov/yose/planning/trp).
As in previous workshops, participants will join planners in discussing ways to move the plan forward. On August 11, the primary assignment will be to consider the range of preliminary management concepts presented in the workbook and come up with ways in which to strengthen them for the Tuolumne River Plan. In the fall, the NPS planning team will begin transforming these concepts into fully-formed alternatives to be analyzed in the draft environmental impact statement (anticipated for public review in summer 2009).
The historic Parsons Lodge is located in the heart of Tuolumne Meadows, where nearing the turn of the century, John Muir and Robert Underwood Johnson discussed the creation of a national park system. Join the NPS planning team as we gather to talk about preserving the Tuolumne experience for future generations. (Allow a 30 minute walk to Parsons Lodge from nearby parking areas.
